Out and About

A Jewel in the Crown

If you are coming to the great south of NZ there are many things to do and see but may I impress on you the seriousness of considering a  Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise.

Rudyard Kipling once described Milford Sound as the 8th wonder of the world, but he didn’t explore Doubtful Sound, so we wonder…

Doubtful Sound is the bigger cousin to Milford Sound and has much more to explore and see. With many more arms to explore and far less  boats it has become the desire of the discernible traveller.

There is a family of bottlenose dolphins that domicile in this area and can often be seen during a cruise. A colony of New Zealand Fur Seals  are based at the entrance to Doubtful. And in the winter months the Fiordland Crested Penguins come in to breed in many areas. We support  the research of these amazing creatures and know where to find them when they are about. Moly-mawks and Albatross can also be  found on the coast when the weather allows.

We also offer you the chance to catch lobster and other fish to augment the evening meals, which are prepared fresh by our resident chef;  whilst you get up close and personal with mother nature on a kayaking excursion in the calm waters within.

So, if you’re looking for a memorable experience on a smallship overnight cruise with a maximum of 12 guests then please feel free to contact  us through the details below. We’re confident you’ll go home with memories that last a lifetime!
