Monte Christo Winery

Monte Christo Winery offers an idyllic getaway just outside the picturesque village of Clyde, about an hour’s drive from Queenstown airport.  Located in the stunning Alexandra Basin, this hidden gem is a mere 400 metres from the popular Central Otago Rail Trail.

Established in 1864, explore Monte Christo’s heritage as the birthplace of Central Otago wine. Over 150 years after the regions first wines  were produced here, we proudly carry on the legacy of our founder, crafting elegant, and impeccably balanced wines epitomising the terroir  of Central Otago.

Cellar Door

Join us for a wine tasting inside the historic winery building, which has been lovely restored as our cellar door. Enjoy a flight of our limited  production wines at the bar, or book in advance for a private wine tasting in our unique underground cellar.

Fritzy the Food Truck

Savour culinary delights from our garden food truck, Fritzy, serving up a delicious menu of small plates to share and pair perfectly with our  wines. We also offer gourmet pizza and charcuterie platters, along with options for the kids and specialty coffees. It’s the perfect spot to  spend the afternoon relaxing with a glass of wine, complete with a play area for little ones and a pétanque court.
